My Hometown (SLJ)

Tena koe bloggers! Today I am blogging on my home town, Auckland. So for the Summer Learning Journey, (SLJ) we have been given a task to blog on our home town. My home town is Auckland.
Auckland,
Auckland is a busy area full wonders. There can be places that are lovely and places that can be very dirty. but I love Auckland no matter what. There are people there that can help or make you happy with in a second.
There are also places that you can make memories at like Rainbow's End.
Here are 5 facts about Auckland...

- Now in 2018 it has an estimate of 1.57 million of its population
- Auckland is New Zealand's largest city
- The Maori name is Auckland is Tamaki Makaurau
- Auckland is located in the North Island

  2. Kia ora Lavinia,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Megan and Cia on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is great to see that you are an active participant and that other students are commenting on your posts. That is really cool!

It is also cool to see that you live in Auckland, just like me! I live out in the west side of Auckland in a place called Titirangi. It is quite pretty out here with lots of native forests and bush. My son, Aronui, and I like to go for bush walks sometimes. Unfortunately, a number of our usual pathways have been closed due to concerns about the health of our native Kauri trees. They are worried that some of the Kauri trees are becoming infected with a virus so they don't want people walking through the area (and possibly carrying the virus from one part of the forest to another).

Do you ever go for walks with your family? I hope that you are all having a lovely holiday time together and a very restful break from school. I am going to be online each day this summer so I will be sure to come back and check your blog to see if you've had time to post another SLJ activity. I really hope that you will!

    Bye for now,

    Rachel :)
