Athletics Day 2018

Athletics Day
Hey bloggers! Today I am blogging on Athletics day. At school on Friday 2nd of November, the whole school joined in with Athletics Day. It took a lot of planning by our teacher Ms Sands, to make sure that everyone had the chance to do each event. My favourite events were high jump and sprints. There were about 12 events.
I came a place in everything except long jump. We were put into groups based on your age before the 1st of October. 11 and 10 year old girls were put together. We started at 9:00 am. Everyone helped set up before school and some people helped before and after the bell rang at 3 pm to pack up.
After all the events was main event of the day. The biggest event of them all...
'The House Relays'
There are 4 house groups, Pukeko, Tui, Ruru and Kea. Pukeko is green, Tui is yellow, Ruru is blue and Kea is red. I am in Tui. The House Relay is the best event. Everyone in the school gets to participate in one event, at once. Each team cheers and enjoys themselves. We do this because it is part of our curriculum, all the children at school, have to do exercise.
Here is some of the photos of the day!

I hope you enjoyed looking at the photos. Please feel free to comment or leave some feedback for me. I really enjoyed this year's Athletics. I hope you enjoy your school Athletics day. I can't wait to see some of your blogs and work.

Pasifika Peter Pan

Our Waikowhai Production
Hey bloggers! Today I am blogging on our Production. Last week we had a Production called "Pasifika Peter Pan." It was like Peter Pan, the only difference is that there is a Pacific twist. So instead of going around Neverland, Peter takes Wendy, John and Michael to different islands like Fiji.
After the Production we were given a task, the task was a DLO, (Digital Learning Object) it was on a slideshow. On the slideshow there were the 6 DeBono Thinking Hats. We had to write in each of the hats. There was the Green Thinking Hat, the Yellow Thinking Hat, the White Thinking Hat, the Red Thinking Hat, the Blue Thinking Hat and the Black Thinking Hat. Each hat has a meaning.
Here is my work and some photos of the Production!

I hope you enjoyed my work and looking at the photos. Please feel free to leave a comment or some feedback for me. I really enjoyed the Production. I am Peter Pan. I know I am a girl but in England, it is called a pantomime. A pantomime is when someone like a girl acts as a boy in a show.
Here is a photo of me and 4 people from backstage, plus an additional Samoan Dancer.

I hope you enjoyed my blog. If you would like to see more of our work. Please feel free to stay in touch with my blog.

Maths Tumble

Hey bloggers!!! Today I am blogging about Maths. This term we were given tasks. It was put on one slideshow. There were must dos, should dos and could dos. My group had to add and subtract decimals. We worked it out on Maths Learning Centre. Click Here for the link.
We used Screencasify to video our working out. There were about 20 questions, 2 on each slide. Once you finished you added the video on the slideshow and wrote the answer on the page.
Here is my work!!!

One of the questions were 15.7 + 18.1=

The Answer was 33.8

Here is a video that can help you with decimals. If you don't know how to do decimals.

I hope you enjoyed my work. It was hard to work out the question on the number-line because I couldn't control the mouse. Please feel free to leave a comment or some feedback for me.
I can't wait to see your blog and some of your work. If you would like to see more of my work please feel free to stay in touch with my blog. I hope you enjoyed my work.

Ako Hiko Film Festival

Hey bloggers! Today I am blogging on the Ako Hiko Film Festival. The Ako Hiko Film Festival was last term. It was the first time Waikowhai joined or entered videos. In the Ako Hiko Film Festival, many schools entered videos created by the students.
We were put into groups. We learnt about many different shots like the up shot, down shot, close up shot, medium shot and wide shot. Once we learnt all the different shots, with our groups we did a warm up. We filmed knock knock jokes to warm us up.
Our video had to be related to "Change" Once we finished the warm up, we were given a paper. On the paper we had to plan what we were going to do. There were 6 boxes to write in. Our team had bit of disagreements but in the end we came up with something. Our movie is about "Bullying." To change their attitude
I really enjoyed it. My group had 4 girls including me. My group was me, Ayva, Faith and Chimay. Here is our video. I hope you enjoy it!!!

This was a fun experience to do. It was hard trying not to do the same type of shot though. I hoped you enjoyed it. It turned out really good because our team work together really well. We worked really hard to complete the video. I really liked my group.
Please feel free to leave a comment or some feedback for me. I can't to see some of your blogs and work.

Caesar The War Dog

Caesar the War Dog
Hey Bloggers!!! Today I am blogging on Reading. This term for reading, we were given a novel to read, following that a slideshow. The slideshow contained many different types of work. One of them was an investigation or research.
Caesar The War Dog. It was a book that was full with drama, love and loss. Many people lost things they loved. I did my research on Caesar the War Dog. Caesar is named after a roman emperor.
Here is my work!!!

I hope you enjoyed my work. I found the research in the middle. It wasn't too hard or too easy. Caesar was a detective dog. He detected bombs, weapons and many other things that could hurt people. He saved many lives.
I hope you enjoyed my work. I can't wait to see some of your blogs and work. Please free to leave a comment or some feedback for me.
